ABOUT SMALL TALK PEDIATRIC THERAPY
Hi! I'm Valerie- a certified speech-language pathologist in the Northern Colorado area. My love for children started me on this career journey more than 10 years ago! I really enjoy growing my knowledge to help kids pursue a functional and reliable way to be heard.
My husband and I have two little ones, Oliver and Emilia. We enjoy swimming together, going on trips, eating worldly cuisine, and being outside. I am thrilled to be here for my community to educate and serve children and their families!
HISTORY & MISSION
Born and raised in Colorado, a move took me to Chicagoland where I graduated from Saint Xavier University in Chicago in 2007, then from Governor's State University in 2010 with a Master's of Health Sciences- Speech-language pathology. I continued to reside there and pursue my career until 2013 when my husband and I moved back to our great state.

Over the past 10 years, I have served the community in nursing/rehab facilities, schools settings, early intervention (birth-3 years), as well as private clinics. Each opportunity has given me new skills and knowledge to serve my community's families. During graduate school and upon graduation, I was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with children on the Autism spectrum in a therapeutic day school setting. This quickly became my passion and goal for my career: to help children find a voice no matter the method. There is nothing like watching children gain their first words and see the joy on their faces when they are understood.

A goal of mine over the years since returning home from Chicagoland is to ensure there is the education and tools for families regarding their child's communication. My goal for my community is to show others to never be afraid to take the right step in your child's future. Ask when you aren't sure, trust your gut, and know that your child deserves a voice! Parents are a child's best advocate!
